On Saturday, October 4th, the Red Devils ran with excellence. Our Cross Country team won with a 34-point lead over the next best team, 5 points away from a perfect score, to take the conference title. They were led by senior runner, Indiana Tech commit, Danny Frevert, who took the conference title for the third time. Multi-sport athlete Aiden Hernandez was right behind him for a swift second-place finish. Fourth, sixth, and seventh were also gripped by the Devils.
This is the Devils’ 4th consecutive title as a team. They are led by long-time coach Jake Rakoczy. Winning is no stranger to Coach Rakoczy. This is his 10th conference title as head coach, winning 9 out of the last 11. Things have been going well for the Devils.
The Devils are seeking their first state appearance since 2018 as they prepare for sectionals. The Devils are sitting at 24th in the state (IATCCC). Their journey into the postseason will begin on October 18th at Highland. The team’s hard work and dedication have enabled RDXC to leave it better than they found it.
