The LHS Student Council, sponsored by Ms. McAllister, Ms. Davis, Mrs. Camery, and Mrs. Ison, organized the Pep Session to boost school spirit ahead of the football game against Highland. The club coordinated all homecoming activities in just 3.5 weeks, with the pep rally as the biggest effort. The event highlighted various school members, including shout-outs to different teams, clubs, and teachers. The Council aimed to involve as many student groups as possible to maximize crowd engagement.
Art teacher, Ms. LaPage, took on the honor of MCing the event for the first time in her career. Bringing the energy, she introduced the Pep Rally and got the crowd eager for the events to come. Student Council President, Kathryn Haas, also took the mic to announce and honor the hard work her club put towards preparing this event for the school.
This year’s new, exciting activity was an intense game of Tug-of-War. The teams consisted of around 15 people from each grade level. The seniors vs. the juniors was the first showdown. Each team was fairly balanced, with the game remaining close for most of the time. The seniors eventually gathered all of their strength together to take the win. The next game was between the sophomores and the freshmen. The freshmen pulled an upset, beating the sophomores quickly. The freshmen team was tiny, but mighty! The freshmen then went on to play the Seniors, which was an unexpected match. The freshmen held their ground and put up a tough fight- but the seniors ultimately won. The final showdown was a match between faculty members and seniors of the football team. It was an extremely close match, but ultimately ended with the Red Devil Football guys taking the win!

The rally ended with motivational speeches from team captains: Gavin Gudgel, Brody Kalwinski, Lincoln Schneider, and Dylan Sinde. Coach McKim also delivered his first Pep Rally Speech as the new Head Coach of the Devils.
The pep rally was nevertheless a success. The school spirit and Red Devil Pride that was brought at the Pep Rally translated to Friday night’s game. The Devils took the win over Highland 42-7. Great job, Devils!
