The 20th anniversary of Lowell High School’s art collection was celebrated at the October 23rd “Night of the Arts.” This event was sponsored by the Tri-Creek School Corporation and the Lowell Tri-Kappa Zeta Chi Chapter. Thanks to former LHS Visual Arts teacher Tom Sufana, our school proudly displays an extensive gallery that has grown throughout the years. The artwork along the walls and hallways throughout LHS represents over 50 countries.
The Night of the Arts also showcased artwork created by our very own students. Art teachers from Lowell High School, Lowell Middle School, Lowell Intermediate School, Oak Hill Elementary, Three Creeks Elementary, and Lake Prairie Elementary gathered pieces from their students, proudly displaying what they have been working on so far this school year. Admission to the event was free; however, attendees could purchase desserts or sculptural pieces to support fundraising efforts.
Lowell High School senior Savannah Suggs attended the Night of the Arts and said, “I was lucky enough to meet with a representative from IUN, David Arreola. He was interested in displaying student artwork in the 2025 IU Northwest Biennial Student Art Show. Simply because I attended the Evening of the Arts, now three of my very own pieces are going to be displayed at another gallery. I feel extremely grateful that my school’s event has provided me with more opportunities for artist exposure.”
The purpose of the Night of the Arts is to showcase our student artists and celebrate our large gallery with the Lowell community. An art night serves as a place where student artists can express their creativity and share their work. This event was meaningful for many students and community members—another successful night for Lowell’s art program.
