Grab your friends, grab your formal attire, and get ready to have an enchanting evening! The Lowell High School’s Winter Formal, the Black Rose Ball, is taking place on January 31st in the LHS Fieldhouse.
Previously, the winter dance has been held in the LHS Cafeteria. The dress code was not very clearly stated, with dresses ranging from semi-formal to formal. Homecoming always had a large turnout, but the winter dance was always lacking in attendance numbers. As part of the Student Council’s effort to get the student body more engaged, they are making Winter Formal an event not to be missed.
Similar to an old Homecoming tradition, grade-level-led areas of the school are decorated in anticipation of this dance. A fun-filled spirit week is also be taking place to get students ready for the ball. The social media committee did an excellent job of creating TikToks hinting at the theme, and then finally revealing what the theme was. The success of the Homecoming TikToks was undoubtedly a reason for the jump in attendance in Homecoming, so the club has hopes that the same will happen for Winter Formal.
All of the work that goes into these dances truly shows. The effort by the club makes dances a fun and memorable experience for the whole school. Do not forget to buy your tickets and show up in your best looks!
