Every month, students from Lowell High School are nominated and selected for “Student of the Month.” These students demonstrate the qualities of P.R.I.D.E. or perseverance, reliability, integrity, drive, and empathy everyday. This is what it means to be a Red Devil. This month, we were ecstatic to announce that sophomore Ellie Mirich won Student of the Month. She not only demonstrates P.R.I.D.E, but also goes above and beyond to be the best version of herself everyday.
She, as everyone else, was very happy to learn that she had won. “When I found out I won, I felt good. I was very proud of myself,” she states. This to most might not be the biggest award, but to some it proves how their hard work pays off and is seen by many throughout Lowell High School. This is an award for “someone who goes out of their way to do something good, and help others”.
As she continues to thrive at LHS, she demonstrates RDP “through being a leader on the soccer field, and as a leader in my community.” School Nurse Michelle English noticed her dedication, and was the nominee for this award. “I was very happy to learn that Mrs. English nominated me. She recognized me for doing the right thing.”
With all of this being said, this award is seen as much more than a piece of paper given out. This is a recognition for being a great student, and an even better kid. Congratulations, Ellie! Keep doing amazing work!
