
Following 31 years of dedicated service as a teacher, coach and Assistant Athletic Director, along with many other roles at Lowell Senior High School, Keith Kilmer has accepted a new professional opportunity. He has officially been appointed as the new Athletic Director at Hobart High School.
Kilmer’s tenure at Lowell Senior High School encompassed a variety of leadership positions. From 2004 to 2010, he served as the Middle School Athletic Director. Subsequently, from 2010 to the present, he held the position of High School Assistant Athletic Director. His coaching experience includes roles as assistant football coach (1999–2009), head track coach (1995–2003), and head football coach (2010–2024). He has also coached middle school cross country, track, wrestling, and girls basketball during his career.
During his coaching career as head football coach, Kilmer led the program to six sectional championships, two regional championships, and one semi-state championship. His 2017 team was the 4A state runner up. Overall, Coach Kilmer has been a part of 14 Sectional Championships, seven regional championships, four semi-state championships, and a state championship with the Red Devil football program.
Regarding his new appointment, Kilmer expressed, “I am excited about this opportunity. I have always wanted to be an Athletic Director and I am appreciative of Hobart High School for giving me the opportunity.” Reflecting on his departure from Lowell, he shared, “The saying goes, ‘Once a Red Devil, always a Red Devil.’ I will always look back on my 31 years here fondly. RDP and some of the great people who were involved with it have shaped who I am, and for that I will forever be grateful.”
