What once felt so far away is suddenly right in front of us: our graduation year. While we are already halfway through the school year, this semester takes on a different meaning for the seniors. Senior year brings in a mix of emotions that can be hard to put into words. One moment can feel normal while the next can feel like a “last.” With deadlines, decisions, and goodbyes approaching, seniors are learning quickly how fast time can pass. 2026 used to feel like a year that would never come, and here we are. Seniors are learning how important it is to make every moment count this year.
While seniors are being told to “enjoy every moment” in these last few months, it can be pressuring. Some may feel like they are not enjoying themselves just because they are thinking about what is ahead or how this will be the last time they do it. This year for the seniors comes with feelings like nostalgia, excitement, and fear, and sometimes you feel them all at the same time. Seniors also git hit hard with senioritis, sometimes making it hard for them to keep up with their responsibilities. This time of year is just a battle between senioritis and responsibilities; it is important you fight it and keep your eyes on how far you have come, and do not give up. As Dr. Seuss once said, “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.” So always remember the world is full of opportunities you are supposed to take.
As we get closer to graduation, it is clear that this chapter has been about more than just deadlines, events, and the countdown to graduation. It is been about growth, people, and the moments that shaped you into the person you are today. While the future may feel uncertain, it is also full of choices and opportunities you will never forget. This year is not an ending, it is a beginning of everything that comes along after the final bell.
