The Science Olympiad team competed at Indiana University Northwest in the regional competition and qualified for the state tournament. The competition involved 23 different events focused on science and engineering. Fifteen teams competed in the event.
Our team had strong performances across multiple events, earning several top finishes. The team had three first-place finishes, four second-place finishes, and one third-place finish.
First-place medals were earned by Riley Cooper (2), Chelsee Bergstrom, Jack Brugos, Josh Hejnowski, and Ava Pocius. Second-place medals were earned by Josie Laub, Anden Robinson, Stefan Angelkoski, and Angela Angelkoska. Third-place medals were earned by Josie Laub, Madison Evancho, and Josh Hejnowski.
Other recognized winners included Josh Hejnowski and Grady Bergstrom, who earned fifth place. Sixth-place finishes were earned by Riley Cooper, Ava Pocius (2), and Angela Angelkoska.
The team has worked very hard this year, and we are excited to be headed to the state competition. State will take place at North Ridge High School on March 28th.
