Lowell Senior High School’s graduating summa cum laude students were honored on Wednesday, April 15th, at the annual P.R.I.D.E. Banquet. The P.R.I.D.E. Banquet is organized by LHS English/Language Arts teacher Joseph Gianotti, along with the help of secretaries Tisha Tolle, Diane Schoon, and DeAnn Serrano. The banquet took place at Signature Banquets in Lowell, with the support of the Lowell Rotary Club and Lions Club. To graduate summa cum laude means to “graduate with highest praise or honor,” having a 4.2 cumulative GPA or higher throughout one’s high school career.
As part of the P.R.I.D.E. Banquet, honored students are asked to write bios about themselves, detailing their future plans, high school accomplishments, and nods to those who have helped them along the way. Each bio was read aloud by administration members, along with childhood and senior photos projected of each student. Each honored student was also asked to recognize their most influential Tri-Creek staff member, who was also invited to the event.
The P.R.I.D.E. Banquet shows off some of the best that Tri-Creek has to offer. The brilliant minds of the students and the meaningful leadership of the staff are put on display on this special night.
