Following a dominant performance at the Pipefitters Local 597 competition, Conner secured a rare and highly coveted “direct entry” into the union’s prestigious apprenticeship program.

Facing off against the area’s top technical talent, he demonstrated elite proficiency in precision welding. His technical accuracy and composure under pressure impressed the veteran judges, earning him the top spot.

By winning the competition, Conner bypasses the standard multi-year waiting list, moving straight into the ranks of the nation’s premier pipefitting trainers. For this local kid, the victory is not just about a trophy it is the start of a lifelong career in the trades.
