On Wednesday, November 5th, the Lowell High School bowling team competed at Country Lanes Bowling Alley. During the event, the boys and girls split into two separate squads and played different teams. The boys matched up against Crown Point, while the girls played Hanover Central.
Each game was played in a baker format. A baker format is when each member of the team bowls two frames per game. This format emphasizes teamwork and consistency, as every bowler contributes to the total score. In this format, both the girls and boys teams played 10 games each. This means each team member bowled approximately 20 frames in total.
Diving deeper, there was at least one standout player for each squad. For the boys, one standout was Logan Haskins. He was consistent in knocking down nearly all the pins and bowled plenty of strikes to boost the team. On the girls’ side, Morgan Ruiz was a key player. She almost never missed the pins and stayed sharp throughout all 10 games. Overall, each player demonstrated great skill, and their hard work showed throughout the event.
In the end, the boys fell short against Crown Point. Even though they lost, their dedication was evident throughout the match. The girls earned a victory against Hanover Central thanks to a strong team effort. Altogether, the event showcased the teamwork and commitment of the entire team.
