After a long 256 days, the Lowell boys basketball season is finally here. With the upcoming season, some questions were asked of Head Coach Joe Delgado. He is most excited to see the growth of a new group of players. “Many of the players will be playing new roles, and it will be exciting to see if they can bring the H.E.A.T. every night as they rise to new challenges and connect as a team.” With every new season comes new excitement.
Another question that was asked was, “After graduating many seniors, who were quality players, what can we expect from this year’s team?” Delgado responded, “You can expect to see a group that is hungry to leave their mark on Lowell Basketball. Many have been patiently waiting for their moment and now have the opportunity to showcase their skills at a higher level. With a new team comes new expectations, new roles, and setting the standard for how we want to play every night.”
This upcoming season also brings new and exciting coaches. Two new staff members have been added to the roster. Previously with the team for four years, Troy Huseman has returned as the varsity assistant coach. He is also a former Lowell basketball player. “It’s always exciting to have former players back coaching,” Delgado says. A brand-new coach, Kevin Shelton, is leading the freshmen team. “He is learning a new system offensively and defensively,” Delgado adds. “He is going to do a fantastic job of skill development and help prepare our freshmen for the next level. Both coaches are learning our concepts to help ensure our program is connected at all levels.”
The Lowell boys basketball team is more than ready for the 2025–2026 season. The team’s first game is November 25, 2025, at home, with JV tipping off at 5:30 p.m. and Varsity following at 7:00 p.m.
